The Final Countdown

If the Lord wills, one month from today we will be disembarking from an Ethiopian Airlines flight in Lomé, the capital city of Togo. This will mark the fulfillment of nine months of praying, soul-searching, seeking counsel, applying to ABWE, field training, planning, and support-raising. At this time last year, we were just welcoming our two oldest daughters back from a short-term trip to southern Togo. Little did we know that one year later we would be wrapping up our life in Idaho and moving there ourselves to teach missionary kids at the Hospital of Hope in the northern part of the country. God has been so faithful to guide and provide for us through all of the details of this transition. We can’t deny that this is His will for us and we are excited to follow Him in obedience and complete dependence! We know that this is just the beginning of the good work that He has prepared for us to do.

The next few weeks are going to stretch us in many ways and we need you to pray on our behalf. Marc and Sierra will be finishing up their jobs this weekend which will give us three weeks to spend together as a family. In between various doctor and dentist appointments, packing, another garage sale(!), and moving out of our home, we hope to be able to do some fun things together before we say goodbye. It has been a busy summer for us and we have rarely all been in the same place at the same time. We have found a wonderful home for Bruno (our beloved beagle) and we will be transitioning him to his new family this weekend as well. As you can imagine, these days are busy and bittersweet.

We are very close to reaching the full amount of our monthly support. Your generous one-time gifts have abundantly supplied the deficit for this first year. Our goal is still to reach the 100% mark so that we can remain on the field as long as the Lord allows us to be there. THANK YOU for you sacrificial giving which will make it possible for us to go and serve the missionary community in northern Togo. We can’t wait to give you first-hand reports of what God is doing through the ministries there.
