The Cuisine (Don’t think food…)

There is a separate living area next to the Hospital of Hope for patients (and their families) that have been discharged from the hospital, but yet require ongoing treatment or wound care. The buildings have a long central hallway with partitions on each side where the patients can sleep and keep their personal belongings. There are open air cooking spaces, a couple of water spickets, and some pit toilets. Several large trees provide a good amount of shade in this corner of the compound. I recently heard that there are approximately 300 people living in this area at any given time.

One of the main ministries of our chaplains is to visit the people who are living at the cuisine. Sometimes it will just be a casual time of games and crafts. Some days there will be organized Bible studies. Often a Christian film will be shown and gospel centered conversations will take place. More often than not, this is a simple way to display the love of Christ to people who are in a very vulnerable situation. Please pray for our team of chaplains to continue to have hearts of compassion and a boldness to share the HOPE of Jesus.
