Heading Toward the Finish Line
Plane tickets have been purchased! Our family will be flying to the U.S. on June 18th, and we plan to return to Togo on August 27th. We look forward to being with our sending church in Idaho and visiting other churches as we are able. Another main purpose of our trip is to spend time with family before we drop Ally off at Cedarville University! We have seen God clearly directing her steps toward entering the exceptional nursing program that they offer. We are so grateful for how God is providing for both Sierra and Ally as they pursue their training for future ministry. It is hard to think of being so far apart from each other next year, but we are confident in God’s good plans for each of them.
“Hot season” in Mango is no joke! It is really hot! Pray for the Hospital of Hope as it continues to be very busy. Every day when we drive onto the hospital compound there is always a long line of people waiting to be triaged and admitted. Hope Radio has recently added a Women’s Hour Program and the Bible Institute classes have continued to be very well attended each month, as many Togolese nationals are excited about the Biblical training that is being offered. The opportunities for sharing the gospel are tremendous, but the work is hard (even harder in this heat). Pray for strength, endurance, and a love for the lost among the missionaries here in Mango.
We had the opportunity to take part in ABWE’s 50th anniversary celebration in March. Well over 3,000 people who have been impacted by the mission attended the celebration down in the capital city of Lomé. It was a full day of African choirs singing, testimonies, fellowship, and worship together. Praise God for His faithfulness over the last 50 years. It was also a great time for us to get to know other missionaries from the south that we have not met before and to meet many Africans who have been impacted by the gospel that is advancing in Togo. It was a little taste of what we anticipate in heaven.
In March and April, we had special visits from former MK teachers, Kelli Thayer and Megan Mackenzie. It was encouraging for us as teachers and exciting for the students to get to see their beloved teachers back in the classroom. Our weekly routines continue to run smoothly, and the highlight is still teaching through and memorizing large portions of the book of Ephesians with our students.
We have been so incredibly blessed in the last few months as we have seen God provide for our needs in such unexpected ways. THANK YOU for being the vessels of His blessing to us… through your prayers, faithful giving and often through very unexpected (and anonymous!) gifts. We are so grateful.
