For His Glory and Our Good

The last three months have been exceptionally busy and full of answered prayer!  In May we completed our doctrinal exam for ABWE.  The interview lasted nearly three hours and happened to be on our 27th wedding anniversary – but it was a very good experience and a relief to have that task accomplished. In June, we wrapped up the school year and flew back to Idaho to spend a couple of days with Sierra and Ally before they started their summer jobs (Sierra has had an internship with ABWE in Pennsylvania and Ally is working at Camp Pinewood).  We were very disappointed to leave Togo on provisional visas rather than with our residency permits in hand. Though we had filed the paperwork on time, there were several delays along the way.  To our great relief the cards were ready by the time our colleagues came to Idaho from Togo, and they were able to hand deliver them to us!

We have been able to visit several of our supporting churches this summer, and last week we attended New Missionary Orientation at ABWE International Headquarters in Pennsylvania.  It was a great week of training and getting to know the mission board better.  By the end of the week, we were officially commissioned as long-term missionaries – another significant milestone. Praise the Lord!  We are still needing to raise approximately $650 in monthly support commitments to be fully funded as long-term missionaries, but God has amply supplied our needs every step of the way.  We know that He will continue to do so.  Thank you for helping us make this transition with your generous giving.

In two weeks, we will head down to California and then on to Ohio to drop our two eldest daughters off for another year of college.  Sierra will be a senior at The Master’s University (Biblical Studies/Christian Education) and Ally will be going into her sophomore year at Cedarville University (Nursing).

As we head back to Togo for our third year of teaching at the MK school in Mango, we ask you to pray for our team.  Many families are on furlough and the responsibilities will be heavy on those who remain.  Pray that we would be unified in our purpose of reaching the lost and that God would supply the energy and resourced needed to accomplish His work. Thank you for being our faithful partners in prayer and financial support.  We are always amazed by God’s provision through YOU!
