ABWE’s 5oth Anniversary in Togo
We got to experience a little taste of what Heaven will be like when we attended the 5oth anniversary of ABWE’s ministry in Togo. Saturday, March 23rd, was an unforgettable day as we gathered with over 3,000 Togolese brothers and sister in Christ to celebrate all that God has accomplished in this small west African nation. The Palais des Congres in the center or Lome was packed with American missionaries and Togolese nationals in matching pagne (fabric) that was designed specifically for this event. Church choirs from around the country participated in a choir competition all morning. In the early afternoon, there was a special presentation of the various ministries that ABWE has started in Togo, including: Hôpital Baptiste Biblique, Village of Light School for the Blind, Hospital of Hope, Hope Radio, various Christian schools and dozens of churches. Many Togolese dignitaries were invited to attend this portion of the program, and we heard from the Minister of Health thanking ABWE for their many contributions. ABWE’s president, Paul Davis, and the leaders of the Africa mobilization and leadership team were also present.
The evening service was a time of worship in French and many other tribal languages. What a thrill it was to join our voices with that huge crowd and offer our praise in beautiful song! We are so glad that we were able to attend this milestone celebration of God’s faithfulness and we can’t wait to celebrate with all the saints, from all the nations, throughout all of time!
