The Memory of God’s Abundant Goodness

4One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
5On the glorious splendor of Your majesty
And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
6Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts,
And I will tell of Your greatness.
7They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodness
And will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.

Psalm 145:4-7

This is our ultimate goal at the MK school in Mango: to tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD. Whether that be His awesome power and design in creation, His sovereign control over history, His order in mathematical patterns, His creativity through human language, or His perfect plan of redemption … all of our instruction should point back to God’s mighty acts.

We are also “eager to utter the memory of (His) abundant goodness” in our own lives. The last few weeks have certainly driven us to our knees. Marc discovered that he had a couple spots on his nose and ear that showed some skin cancer. While we live and work right next to a hospital, our medical team here does not deal with dermatology and plastic surgery. After getting some recommendations, we decided to schedule his surgery down at the southern hospital in Tsiko (about 7 hours away). This past week we made the trip down south and Marc had the resections and skin grafts done. Now we are praying for speedy healing and pathology reports that indicate clear margins were achieved. We are very grateful that we did not have to leave the country for this procedure, and we trust that God will continue to provide what we need. We were able to get back to Mango in time to celebrate Thanksgiving with our missionary colleagues. Marc’s new nickname is “Uncle Frankenstein” among the MKs.

While we were in Tsiko, we got the happy news that David Tuck had proposed to our daughter, Sierra. We are looking forward to spending a couple of weeks with them over Christmas break, along with our daughter Ally. We thank God for the joyful anticipation of college graduation and a wedding during the spring/ summer of 2026.

Now, as we move into the month of December, we are focusing our prayers on the great needs all around us in Mango. As Hope Radio broadcasts Christmas music and programming, and as The Nativity video is shown in many villages and at the hospital, we pray that many people will hear the good news of Jesus and will turn their hearts to Him in repentance and faith. Please join us in this prayer.
